Okay, so, I just had a random thought and it led to a new species, called the Gemstone Cats. Here's a little biography for yaz~
Gemstone Cats are the size of about two to three average cats at birth, and never stop growing all through life. A near-death average Gemstone Cat can hold twelve fat humans on its back, and about tall enough to rest its chin on a flat-roofed one-story building. They live wild in Tribes, but are sometimes caught and tamed by humans. There are seven Tribes;
Tribe of the Amethyst
Tribe of the Sapphire
Tribe of the Ruby
Tribe of the Emerald
Tribe of the Diamond
Tribe of the Topaz
Their Hierarchy is put together in a way similar to that of the cats in the Clans. Layout from Most Powerful to Least Powerful;
Leader ~ A leader of a Tribe hold the name of their Native Gem. The leader of the Tribe of the Ruby would be named Ruby, for example. They lead the Clan into battle, make any important decisions, and choose allies and foes against other Tribes. This is the most powerful Gemstone Cat in a Tribe.Unlike Clan leader, they keep a single life.
Healer ~ The Gemstone Cat assigned with the duty of healing his or her Tribe. Their connection to the Tribe of Neverending Skies ((Kinda like StarClan cx)) is the greatest, and so they are the first under the Leader. They appoint the new Leader if both the leader and Deputy die, pass signs from the Tribe of Neverending Skies, and gather herbs/mix potions. This cat will retire when their Apprentices comes of age.
Healer in Training ~ The Apprentice of the Healer, this cat is charged with learning the art of Healing and strengthening their connection with the Tribe of Neverending Skies. This cat will replace their mentor when they come of age.
Chief ~ Similar to a Deputy, this cat is the Leader's second in command, and will replace the Leader when the leader dies. Chiefs have the power to declare or end war on another Tribe, and share the power to order execution or banishment of a Gemstone Cat from their own Tribe.
Mothers and Mothers To-Be ~ These cats are honoured in their Tribe as the Givers of Life, and are respected as much or more than the leader. They give birth to their cubs in solitude as a ceremony of respect, though if the cat is ill during birth the Healer and/or the Healer in Training will accompany them. They stay in the Mother's den with their cubs until their cubs are old enough to become an Apprentice.
Elders ~ These Cats are retired from their duties, and are honoured as much as Mothers for their service and story-telling. They are cared for by the Apprentices, and love to tell cubs stories of the past.
Warriors ~ The fighters and hunters of their Tribe, these cats are honoured and adored by the rest of their Clan. They mentor Apprentices for 6 months, and every Warrior must train at least one Apprentice during their lifetime, save one with permanent injury.
Apprentices ~ These cats are training to become Warriors, they are mentored by Warriors, or if they're lucky the Leader or Chief. They are assigned with the duties of caring for Mothers, Cubs and Elders when they're not Hunting or in Battle Practice. They are trained for 6 months, until they are 12 months old.
Cubs ~ These cats are from the ages of 0-6 months, and stay in the Mother's Den until they come of age to become Apprentices.
TO BE EDITED AND CONTINUED AT A LATER TIME! THIS IS A MAJOR WIP!
