Our happy, furry friends are what matters most, right? But wait- what if they get ill?! Or do you just need advice with your new kitten/cat?
Most owners ignore - or don't realize - when their animal is ill. Leaving it to get worse and worse.
Cuts and marks
Cats are usually outside and about, so it's likely they'll pick up some illness or disease from anywhere. They also fight lots, leading them to get cuts and marks which may get infected. If your cat arrives home with scars, don't panic! It will sting them, like it would us. It's uncommon if this cut gets infected because in the wild animals fight and recover quickly. However, if the cut seems to be getting worse and is not healing, best to add some pet healing cream (can be found in pet shops and local vets).
Fleas, ticks and worms.
Cats can easily pick up fleas. If you have local check-ups with your vet, they treat your cat with medicine that makes them not get fleas. They can be hard to spot, because they're tiny black dots that crawl in your cats fur. The eggs are white.
You can easily remove them with a special brush (bought from vets or pet shop) or if there are lots of fleas, give your cat a bath with animal soap, and bush the fleas out. If you leave them, your house can get infested with fleas! Ticks are rare, and easy to get rid of. They're bigger than fleas, and they feed on your cats blood. Just simply buy a tick remover and pluck it out, making sure it's dead, hopefully your cat won't get them again. Worms in cats are common, harder to get rid of than ticks. If your cat has regular check-ups, the vet will give your cat a pill every so often to remove the worms and stop the cat from getting them. Cat worms cannot be passed onto humans, but to make sure wash your hands regularly.
Sickness and diarrhea.
Cats are usually sick from maybe drinking out of a puddle or eating something they shouldn't have. If your cat is sick or has diarrhea, don't worry. Unless this continues for over a week - or your cat is being very weak - take them to the vets. You can spot this because your cat might be: Drinking more often, eating less, fesses not normal, sickness, watery eyes, watery nose.

What do cats eat and drink?
Cats drink water not milk. Most cats are allergic to milk, it's bad for them and fattening. Your cat should occasionally drink cats milk bought from pet shops, shops and vets.
Human food is bad for cats! Some food can be very bad for them because it might be/give your cat a allergic reaction, over fattening; makes them sick. You should really stick to cat food, or else they will start not eating their cat food and start begging for human food. (Because it's nicer tasting!)
Beds and toys.
Your cat will find a special spot around the house were he/she will sleep. You mustn't disturb them or else they'll not like you, and we all need our sleep! For a kitten, buying a bed is needed. It will make them feel safe when they first arrive. You must not disturb them, or it wont be a safe place. This goes for elder cats also.
Kittens love toys, feathers on strings, balls and lights! Just as we liked playing when we were toddlers. If you play these with your cat, you'll create a bond and your cat will like you more, feel more at home.
Neutering
Unless you want to breed your cat, get them neutered! They'll live longer, testicle cancer or disease is common in toms, and hard to get rid of. If your cat isn't, he/she will have more chance of getting lost and running away. This because they go and search for a mate, they will travel miles!
